Samual Swinton Jacob, British architect, was commissioned by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner in Rajasthan in north-western India to build Lalgarh Palace in 1898.

The first telephone call from a private number to an aircraft was made in 1921. Sir Samual Instone spoke to the pilot of a Vickers G-EASI. He spoke with the cooperation of the British Post Office and Croydon Ground Station, near London.
